API Yin-Yang Eyes’ Experiment in Shin Min News Daily

The Gates of Hell open in the lunar 7th ghost month, hundreds of worshippers brave the rain to go to Chua Chu Kang Cemetery to pray.

It was a dark eerie rainy night with candles flickering in the darkness.

According to folk belief, the lunar 7th month is also called the ghost month, and the first day is when the gates of Hell opened.

During this time, the Emperor of Hades would open the gates of Hell and let the “good brothers” come out to visit Earth.

In our local temples, belief and respect for the ghost month is strong, and there are usually rituals on the stroke of midnight of the first day to go to the cemetery to pray and perform rites.

Yesterday the usual tranquil CCK cemetery came alive before 12 am. There were more than 10 groups of people totalling more than 100 people going there.

There people came from varioius temples, and there were also whole families as well. These group of people would select a quiet spot in the cemetery where they would burn their offerings. One of the group salid that Tua Ya Pek (The White Messenger) usually open the gate of Hell on the first day of the ghost month. That day is also his birthday. So they prepared the offerings to celebrate his birthday. At the same time also giving some offerings to the wandering spirits.

Asia Paranormal Investigators (API) also organised a team to the cemetery, bringing along a “yin-yang eye” woman along together with equipment, hoping to capture some paranormal activity.

The founder Charles Goh (39 years old) brought along 5 members, and the so claimed yin-yang eye woman Ms Wei (44) , an accounts
executive, in a MPV car for this venture.

Around 11 pm, this group came to the entrance of the cemetery. They observe the activities of the various groups burning the offerings, while waiting for paranormal activity to occur. As the rains started to fall, they did not observe any “good brothers” or hungry ghosts, so they went to the car to escape the rain.

Around midnight, the rain became a slight drizzle, so Charles and Ms Wei began to walk, with Ms Wei walking in front, wearing a remote control
electronic eye, while the members inside the car control the close circuit TV, to watch what the lady is seeing.

Charles explained that they did not use any infra-red or electromagnetic sensor or other high tech gadgets this time due to the high level of human and car traffic present. He felt that these would interfere with the accuracies of the equipment, that is why he decided to use a pair of yin-yang eyes this time for observation.

“We put on the remote control eye on her head. The purpose is that if she would see any paranomal sightings, we can also through
the close circuit TV, help to verify the paranomal activity.

After 2 hours of exploring, the paranormal detectives did not get any success, and did not capture any paranormal activity.

The Yin-Yang Eye Ms Wei explained, ” According to my experience, if you go especially to look for ghost, they would not let you see them, but if you don’t pay any particular attention, they would suddenly appear in front of you.”

The still single Ms Wei said that from 9 years old, she started to find out that she has a pair of Yin Yang eyes. At that time she was washing the plates, when suddenly a black shadow began to approach her.

When she started to grow up, she began to have more of such experiences, even seeing ghosts floating by her. Once she even saw her father who has just passed away a few days ago. She saw him returned home and then he gently caressed her cheeks.

Recently she went to travel in Malaysia, at a hotel, she also saw a black dress long hair girl sitting at the dressing table. She disappeared in her view a few seconds later.

But when the reporter wanted to find out more about Ms Wei’s ghostly experiences, she became dead serious and said, “Now is the ghost month, it is not covenient to talk more!

Ms Wei said she rarely talked to family and friends about her paranormal experiences, because she does not want to scare them, and also does not want them to worry too much.
