Assembly amused by comment on Bigfoot
MEERA VIJAYAN at the Johor State Assembly
JOHOR BARU: The ever elusive Bigfoot managed to find its way into the state assembly proceedings when “Bigfoot chairman” Freddie Long (BN – Stulang) was asked to explain the difference between an elephant footprint and a Bigfoot footprint.
Dr Mohd Azam Rauzan (BN – Penawar) caused a sudden burst of laughter when he said the media and others seemed confused between tracks made by elephants and those supposedly made by Bigfoot.
“Do tell us how the tracks are different,” he jokingly asked, much to the amusement of the state assembly.
Long replied that the footprints were different, but hastened to say that it was hard to make a comparison as the state had yet to get conclusive proof of the existence of Bigfoot.
Long, who is also the state Tourism and Environment Committee chairman, was answering questions on wild elephants and the state’s relocation programmes when he found himself getting sidetracked.
He then suggested that Dr Mohd Azam take a look at the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organisation website at http://www.bfro.net to ascertain for himself the differences.
”The website has the history of Bigfoot as well as the shape of its footprints. You can examine the differences yourself by looking at the pictures,” he quipped.
The website, which claims to be the “oldest and largest organisation of its kind”, features a myriad of images and feature stories on Bigfoot, including getting Bigfoot enthusiasts worldwide to sign up for expeditions.
