Bukit Timah Hill Forest lives an “Apeman”
NPB – is it a long tail macaque monkey?
There has been many tales about a 5 ft tall apeman living in Bukit Timah reserve and wandering out in the evening.
These tales have been circulating along for a long time. Those village children who live in Bukit Timah Hill remember being told when they were young not to wonder along at night for fear of meeting an Apeman.
An old man recalled that he had saw a Bigfoot print before and smell a very strong urine order.
A taxi driver told Shin Min that he once met with an accident in Upper Bukit Timah Road. He banged into a kind of apeman dashing across the road. But it was a very big monkey. Although its limb was torn off, yet it carried its broken limb and escaped into the jungle.
A lady also told Shin Min that she was once waiting for bus 171 in the early morning when she saw a shadow crouching behind a dustbin. Due to the fog, she could not see properly, so she went closer to take a look. It was a big Apeman. It gave a big shriek and then escape into the jngle.
The lady describe the big apeman as having a monkey face, grey hair, but move like a human.
NPB assistor director when being interviewed said she has never heard of any apeman reports. But the long tailed moneky is a common sight in Bukit Timah Hill reserve, and sometimes they are even taller than a small child.
