A grand temple culture forum will be held on 1 Feb 2007 at SPH News Centre.
This Temple Culture forum will invite 4 professionals who have great interest and research on Temple Culture and History.
They are Raymond Goh, Taoism researcher, Kent Neo (Interior Designer and Lecturer), Victor (Taoism Singapore forum founder)
and Dr Lin Weiyi ( Chinese Culture researcher)
The chairperson will be FM 100.3 Vice President Anna Lim.
Sin Min Daily News will also launch the 2nd edition of the book “Temple Culture” on 1 Feb, following the successful launch of the 1st edition of
“Temple Culture” last year.
This new book will feature 40 local temples’ history and development, including century old temples like Guan Yin temple at Waterloo street, Thian Hock Gong,
Wak Hai Cheng Beo, Keng Zhou Mazu Temple, Rochor Tua Pek Kong Temple, Kusu Tua Pek Kong etc. Also the book will feature 10 other local culture experts’ articles, introducing the local traditional cultural heritage.
The forum mentioned above will be held In conjunction with the book launch, entitled the Digital Age and Temple Culture. At that time, the 4 speakers will use Digital Technology and share the fruits of
their temple culture research with the audience.

A study of chinese temples
A book recording the history and development of 40 temples in Singapore was released yesterday.
Chinese Temple and Culture Volume 2, produced by Shin Min Daily News, also features articles by 10 local experts on Chinese customs.
It was launched by Parliamentary Secretary for the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports Teo Ser Luck (pictured with Singapore Press Holdings executive vice-president for newspaper services and Chinese newspapers Robin Hu) at News Centre in Toa Payoh.
The book is on sale for $5 at major bookstores such as Kinokuniya and Popular.
The first volume, which featured 37 temples, was released in December.
All 30,000 copies of the book have sold out.
After yesterday’s launch, a public seminar was held to discuss the role and challenges facing traditional Chinese temple culture in the digital age.
